Business Operations Manager -"W-TRS"



Overview:

The Business Operations Manager is responsible for leading a team that provides program management support across organic, and matrix business areas and functions to ensure the sustained operations of Armys global training enterprise. This responsibility includes regular interface with the Government customer, and coordination of enterprise information for reporting and synchronization of business support efforts for efficient delivery of services in support of field operations. The ideal candidate will have Army LVC training experience and have a strong program management background with a PMP certification, and be proficient in the application of the Program Management Institute Body of Knowledge to large complex programs. The candidate will also have shown demonstrated successful experience managing a large, distributed team across multiple time zones. The manager will work closely with Integrated Product Teams to ensure that assets, services, policies, and documentation are responsive to internal; and external stakeholders.



Job Description:

  • Lead a team that provides global services.
  • Design, maintain, and upgrade the W -TRS programs management processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate the W -TRS program processes and efforts within the V2X corporate business advisory group.
  • Prepares project execution plans and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team.
  • Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment.
  • Coordinate and maintain internal and external communication with development/user organizations.
  • Ensure business operations are seamlessly integrated and executed for synchronous support of multiple programs and daily training operations and services.
  • Review and edit documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to company and organizational standards.
  • Establish procedures for conducting audits and quality checks on existing documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated information
  • Collaborate closely with a variety of stakeholders to develop and execute communication action plans.
  • Provide training and support to staff on documentation processes and tools.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where innovation as well as continuous learning and improvements are encouraged.


Material & Equipment Directly Used:

Servers and network equipment, computers and workstations, mobile end user devices, Army Live Virtual and Constructive training systems, Information System for Integrated Training Environment (InSITE), documentation software, commercial and defense software suites, communication tools, version control systems, diagraming tools, storage solutions, documentation templates, printers, and reference/training materials.



Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • SECRET Clearance required
  • Masters Degree in fields listed above preferred
  • PMP certification required


Experience:

  • At least 10 years of proven experience in Program Management.
  • At least 5 years of experience effectively managing or leading a global distributed enterprise team.
  • Experience with design, build, sustainment and upgrade of large complex projects

  • Ability to prepare operational plans and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall functional results.
  • Improving upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. Solutions are novel and unique and drawing upon best practices based on expertise.
  • Communicating with parties within and outside of own job function, including communicating with parties external to the organization, which may include customers or vendors.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees across the Company within area of expertise. Manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance involving large cross-functional teams.
  • Mastery level knowledge of multiple job areas. Leading expert on PMBOK for the W -TRS program.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex IT systems and processes, identify documentation needs, and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.




Supervisory/ Budgetary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of business functional professionals across 16 time zones.
  • Leads plans and prepares budget estimates.
  • Supports Integrated Product Teams for multiple simultaneous project execution, with additional projects being initiated, and others closed out, all while maintaining compliance with PMI and V2X standards.
